Chocolate artistry since 1878
Our story began back in 1878 when Silviano Venchi, a young 20-year-old man, spent all his savings on two bronze cauldrons and started experimenting with chocolate in a small shop on via degli Artisti in the neighbourhood of Vanchiglia, Turin.
These experiments were so successful that after a few years the Nougatine, a sweet containing chopped and caramelised hazelnuts coated in extra-dark chocolate (why not re-read this story while sampling one?) and Venchi SpA, "the most elegant chocolate shop in Piedmont" and "Purveyor to the Royal Household" were born.
While the royal coat of arms no longer appears on our packaging, the same passion, attention to detail and experimental spirit that set us apart back then remain today. This paved the way for all our imaginatively named treats, which include Chocoviar, Gianduiotto, Cremino, bars, spreads, Gourmet Easter eggs and even Gelato!

A company with more than 145 years' worth of history, we bring the Italian way of life and delicious flavours to every corner of the earth, with 250 chocolate recipes and 90 flavours of gelato. We're present in more than 70 countries in key cities like London, Hong Kong, Dubai and New York, where our store is home to the biggest chocolate waterfall of all time. As part of our ongoing international expansion (more than 180 chocolate and gelato stores worldwide and counting), we've established ourselves in Jakarta, Shanghai and Tokyo, bringing creativity, joy and conviviality!
